I am really disappointed with my education thus far at this school. I chose Regent because it had an online program, claimed accreditation unlike the other questionable online schools such as Argosy and University of Phoenix. I liked that it was a Christian University. I did not expect that the school would be as unbelievably rigorous as it has been. Trying to talk to the academic advisors about my unhappiness with policies and trying to do well in my classes seemed to fall on deaf ears. Regent seems to think it is an academically challenging school and that is true. I did not expect that after 8 weeks of studying nonstop with no social life and very few breaks that I would fail my classes, which I spent a ton of money on. The reality is if you are a financial aid student, you have to pay more and take the minimum of full time 6 credits to get the full package. Apparently this is not the way the school is geared. It is truly impossible to do well in these classes. They put so much reading on you, answering discussion board posts and papers, that it is impossible to do anything outside of the classes. Not at all what I expected of an online university. Also they seem to think they are some sort of Ivy League school and that there is a reason for the rigorous classes. Nobody in this world has even heard of Regent and they have only been around for 32 years, so I am not sure why they are so haughty and full of themselves when it comes to the education standards. I am not stupid and I am not lazy, but I am lucky most times to get better then a C, even in religion classes. I do not recommend paying a serious amount of money to struggle with your classes, especially as most online students have a life outside of school to worry about as well. Plus when you are taking religion classes and want to transfer somewhere else, those classes are pretty much useless. Let me tell you, the religion classes are the hardest of any I have found. I was an honor student in high school and transferred in having attended several colleges previously, but I just can not hang at this University and have already applied elsewhere. It is unfortunate that I have had to have this experience. Extremely disappointed in how this has all panned out. Christian means to me reflecting God and failing people because the classes are just impossible does not seem to reflect God in my mind.
